This award is constituted in memory of Late Sitaram Rungta, Past National Vice President, All India Marwari Federation and President, Bihar Pradeshik Marwari Sammelan, and is conferred every year upon a writer for excellent contribution to Rajasthani language and literature. A citation and an amount of Rs. 21,000/- is given under this award. The awardee is also provided arrangements for to and fro journey to the function venue and boarding and lodging at the place of function.
